Scholarship Description: The topic of the PhD research is situated in the area of polymeric materials for application in biosensors and bio-analytical separations, with an emphasis on a number of synthetic organic chemical aspects of the research into molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs). In addition to synthesis, there will be attention paid to both a complete characterization of the obtained materials with a variety of analytical techniques as well as the final application of these materials in sensors and separations. In the framework of this project, there will be active collaborations with a multidisciplinary team of research groups both within and outside Hasselt University.
